Powers Lake
Originally called Lakeville and later Nippersink, Powers Lake was eventually named after James B. Powers, an early settler of the area. Powers is a small lake with just under a mile of pristine shoreline and a maximum depth of 33 feet and a great spot to enjoy all kinds of water sports. Water activities include fishing, swimming, boating, paddle boarding, water skiing, and sailing.
The Powers Lake Yacht Club hosts regattas throughout the summer as well as golf outings and bowling events. Along its shore are lively lakeside restaurants that include The Rock Bar and Sit Bull, both serving up casual pub food and drinks.
Powers Lake is populated with a mix of full-time residents and seasonal second homeowners.
Located just minutes from the Wisconsin/Illinois border and two hours from Chicago.
